Fix these things inside of your home before listing it to sell it quickly this summer:

Peeling or Discolored Paint

If any of the rooms of your home have paint that is peeling or discolored, then you need to repaint them. Paint is inexpensive and you should always use a neutral color when you are looking for a quick sale. Your goal is to appeal to the most buyers possible, and neutral colors will promote this.

Broken Blinds or Aged Curtains

Since your buyer will likely ask for all of the home's blinds and curtains to be left with the home when you move out, it is important that they are all in good repair. If you have broken mini blinds or curtains that have seen better days, then you should replace them. If you cannot afford to buy new window coverings, check with the thrift stores in your area as they often have blinds and curtains donated as people update their homes.

Old Appliances in the Kitchen

If your kitchen has old appliances, then you should make an attempt to replace them if possible. Even if buying new appliances is not in your budget, you can always purchase some used appliances that are newer than the ones you currently have. Used appliances are readily available in most areas and are not expensive. To help offset the cost, you can sell your existing appliances. Updating the appliances in your kitchen is important because kitchens are one of the major sellers for many homes.

An Old Water Heater

Finally, if your home's water heater has not been replaced in the last decade, then you should consider replacing it. A water heater is not terribly expensive to replace and this is a big selling point for your home's sales listing. Not only will a new water heater save on your buyer's power bill each month, but it also ensures that they will not need to deal with water heater problems in their first few years of living in the home.
